‘Malachi’ was founded in 1991 to support children affected by family breakdown. Initially established in 1991 as a charity, the aim was to engage and give support and advocacy to children and young people affected by complex and adverse family circumstances.

In response, the founders Gordon and Lyn Lee wrote and copyrighted six class based projects to help children explore a range of family-based issues and then went on to develop a Parenting Group programme and specialised 1:1 therapeutic support. In August 2009, in response to the challenges of growth, Malachi Specialist Family Support Services CIC (MSFSS CIC) was formed. In April 2010, the core services were transferred and are now delivered by this newly formed Company. The two organisations work closely together and are linked constitutionally.
