SWEDA (Skills, Work and Enterprise Development Agency) was established in 1989 as a non-profit making organisation. Whilst SWEDA was originally set up to support Women’s Enterprise, over the years we have diversified our services and we now support lone parents, unemployed people, 50+ , BAME clients and young people as well as women.

SWEDA is now a registered charity and provides services to all the diverse communities in Sandwell and the Black Country. The service provision tackles the barriers faced by many people when wishing to access jobs, training, education and self-employment by providing quality tailored support to meet the specific needs of the clients. The SWEDA team helps all clients who access their services to develop practical skills. This results in empowering and enabling the clients to progress and achieve their goals.
